Dear Huntley 158 Parents & Families,
Thanksgiving break is officially upon us, and I hope all of our Huntley 158 families are looking forward to a well-deserved break and a much needed opportunity to reconnect with your family, friends, and loved ones. Though it’s hard to believe we are already closing in on the holiday season, I have been reminded many times this fall how important it is to take the time to nourish the relationships in our lives that matter most.
Over the course of the past two years, it seems impossible to count all of the messages in which we have touched on the challenges of the pandemic, asked for patience, applauded the perseverance of students, staff and parents, and made an effort to remember why we have kept going through it all: our students. As I reflect on the months of the 2021-22 school year now behind us, I realize that each one of those messages, often lengthy and responsive to our ever-changing circumstances, has marked the progress of our path to become a stronger, more skilled, better equipped school district. Despite the setbacks, teaching and learning has continued, a feat I hope we are all proud of.
As the upcoming holiday suggests, I am thankful for the opportunity ahead of us to continue growing, improving, and serving our students through new innovations and necessary foundations. I am thankful for the continued support of our parents and community and their steadfast partnership in navigating what is right for our children. I am thankful for an incredible staff that has not backed away from the challenge of this year, but allowed it to motivate them in their craft. And most of all, I am thankful for the students who make what we do worthwhile. We have all faced new and unforeseen circumstances together, and I hope that this knowledge will allow us to come together in our journey toward continued success, no matter what differences we may face.
I look forward to returning next week refreshed and ready to tackle the end of this first semester with the sense of community and shared respect for learning that has defined Huntley 158’s success. Once again, thank you all for your ongoing efforts so far this year. I encourage you all to reflect on what you are thankful for, to share these messages of positivity with your students, and to continue to choose joy.
